Governors

Major changes have taken place in the management of schools in recent years. Now governors have important new powers and duties, covering areas such as:

Monitoring the general conduct and organisation of the school.
Formulating policies on the following: Curriculum, Discipline, Charging, Equal Opportunities, Inclusion, Health and Safety, Pay and Conditions and Special Needs.
Having responsibility for the schools expenditure.
Appointing staff.
Making information available to parents.
Preparing an annual report to parents and holding an annual general meeting to discuss it with them.
Being responsible, with the LEA and head, for the delivery of the National Curriculum and RE.

Our governors as a body or as individuals, welcome comments or proposals regarding all aspects of the working of our school, so that the needs of the community are met effectively.
